KOUVOLA 13th April
Easter hell yeah!. Witches, bunnies, eggs and stuff - I want it all.
The first date of the Easter weekend was sweet Kouvola. At first we didn´t expect the place to be packed since three other acts were in town that night. The House of Rock turned out to be a great place. We were thrilled to see both women and men in the audience because the whole concept of men liking us is something we´re not yet used to. The fact is that when both women AND men like the band the band gets big. I believe the male audience is starting to realise what we´re all about and that´s testosterone.

TAMPERE 14th April
When I finally got home that night I couldn’t sleep because of the high-pitch noise in my ears. Backyard Babies were so loud - just the way I LOVE IT! I didn’t think much of BB before but when I saw them live I was in awe.
Before the soundcheck two German girls interviewed me and I was amazed when they told me that they had come all the way from Germany just to see us play. They didn’t even know Backyard Babies. There were also girls from Italy. I received some great birthday presents from fans that night accessories, cards, toys, drawings etc. This time Paavo was sick. He was suffering from flu and his body temperature was nearly 40 degrees C. He wasn’t present at the soundcheck but bravely joined us later. He played one hell of a show considering his shape.
We noticed that there were a lot of people who had probably never seen us before so it felt sort of a showcase gig. It was bit bizarre because we’re used to different kind of reactions especially here in our home town. We’re used to see people scream and wave their fists up in the air but now it was us in front of strangers at home. But I guess that’s the best way to stand out and be counted.
Earlier that day I saw an old friend of mine who I hadn’t seen for a long time and we had a little conversation over anything - life, career, money, friends everything and all of a sudden he asked me how does it feel to be living your dream just the way you always wanted to... And that moment I realised that I have actually achieved something. I’m very privileged doing what I’ve always wanted to do and that’s a huge achievement.

KARKKILA 15th April
Right now I´m in bed at the hotel room which I´m sharing with Mr. Pekkonen. There´s like twenty people yelling and partying right outside our door - that´s where the bar is... or the hallway that leads to the bar. If you can´t beat them join them... That´s exactly what I did later on. And our crew was doing the same thing with a few German girls. For some reason also in Karkkila there were girls from Germany and even from Japan.

HARJAVALTA 16th April
We were all tired as hell not having slept last night. Our crew was entertaining us (the band) and two German girls at the hallway up until 8 am. And here´s the ugly truth - they get all the ladies!

Both of our drivers were still drunk in the morning but somehow we made it to Harjavalta alive. Maybe it was Harjavalta or maybe it was the fact that people were quite tired after three days of partying but the audience was very silent and dead that night.
